The KwaZulu-Natal Youth Wind Band is a prestigious band of talented young music students. The band consists of 61 musicians between the ages of 13 and 25, from diverse cultural backgrounds, who attend high schools and tertiary institutions throughout KwaZulu-Natal.

The band offers these young, gifted musicians the opportunity to perform challenging music in an orchestral environment, and thus develop their skills to play in major professional orchestras at a later stage. For most of the players, music will become part of, if not the whole of, their careers.
