jerith's blogReading about the tourI've been talking to various people recently returned from the Mauritius tour and reading their blogs. Not enough people have blogs! However, thanks to voyager's LiveJournal entry, Travis on MXit and edd on various IM networks I have been given somewhat complete coverage. I'm definitely going to have to sit down with someone over a beer and get a report in person, though. By jerith at 2006-10-03 21:44
On cancelled tours and visitorsI was recently informed of the unfortunate decision to cancel the Cape Town tour, which means I won't get to see all the nice band people in August. On the other hand, one of the nice band people came to see me. Gavin was in town for some french horn thing so this evening included dinner with him and the Moores at a little place in Observatory with interesting decor and very good food. Gav seems to have gotten something of a raw deal due o some kind of misunderstanding which I won't go into here. This is a pity, because he's a nice guy and a good musician and I think the band needs to hang onto people like him as much as possible. Trombone repairsAfter a whole bunch of car trouble (I lent it to my brother and somebody crashed into him) it looks like I'll finally have enough transport to take my trombone for some much-needed repairs. Hopefully it'll be fixed by the time the band comes to visit me, but if not I have a cunning plan. I hear one of the trombonists recently acquired a much-awaited new instrument and apparently he's not all that careful about locking it up... ;-) The Prodigal Trombonist Returns! (Sort of)Despite the direst of predictions from certain Davids who shall remain nameless, I am alive and well in Cape Town. While I may not be a full member of the band any more, I am still more than happy to do my bit. At the moment, my bit is helping Johan and Edrich set up this website. You can read more about what I'm doing in Cape Town on my real blog. By jerith at 2006-07-02 21:41 | band member
